Auckland based group Openside today release the accompanying video for their new single ‘Character Flaws’ (released September 28th).

And continuing their theme of epic video clips, Openside and regular video collaborator Shae Sterling have teamed up for a huge production on this new video, shooting extensively in the mysterious location of Guangzhou in China.

penside punch straight from the heart in this emo-pop anthem ‘Character Flaws’ from the forthcoming three track release, EPISODE ONE: CHARACTER FLAWS out this Friday October 19th.

“Character Flaws is an anthem for the insecure,” says Possum. “When you’re sick of people trying to reassure you that things will get better and you just need to find the fun in wallowing in your self-pity for a while”

The Auckland NZ quartet has already featured this year in Alternative Press, Line of Best Fit and Billboard’s Pride playlist. And with two NZ Top 40 singles already under their belt, ‘No Going Back’ and ‘I Feel Nothing’, their incisive examinations of identity and relationships are resonating with an ever-growing audience.

Openside have built a following with their own nationwide all ages headline shows in June and opening slots for everyone from Twenty One Pilots and Fall Out Boy to Ellie Goulding, to Panic! At The Disco tomorrow night at Auckland’s Spark Arena!

This Labour weekend also sees them performing at the Armageddon Expo held at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds where they will also be exclusively giving away copies of their brand new comic book.

Openside are led by gender non binary vocalist Possum, armed with one of the most brilliant young voices in the country, and their songs are packaged into polished production from Josh Fountain at Auckland’s Golden Age studio (Lorde) and mixed by Ken Andrews (Paramore).

Openside are Possum Plows (vocals), George Powell (drums), PJ Sheperd (guitar), and bassist Harry Carter.
